About Ming Yeung

Ming Yeung I fell in love with 'Free-Style' Chinese painting when I first started learning it in 1998, a year before I immigrated to Canada.

I bring my passion for visual art to the forefront of the local community—making it accessible to people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.

Since 2003, I have been keeping the spirit of my art alive in this country through volunteering at schools, teaching workshops, leading art demonstrations, holding exhibitions, and participating in art events throughout the Lower Mainland. I broadened both my skill sets and experience in the innovative field of arts through participating in various local community events. In 2019, I achieved a Richmond Art Award in the category of ‘Artistic Innovation’ .

Together with my tremendous patience and skill in educating, my ability to bring a unique, international flavour to local events speaks to my commitment in promoting the Arts.

I also created a few art projects as the ways to give voice to the endangered species since 2015. A series of paintings ‘Tusk and Horn’, consisting of paintings of rhinos and elephants with horns and tusks adorned with beautiful bracelets, was created as a part of my endeavor to raise awareness of rhino and elephant poaching. At the same time, ‘Tusk and Horn’ becomes an Educational Project through my painting classes and the local art events. Students and patrons are inspired to follow the lead, and more paintings of the gentle majestic giants with horns adorned with love are being showcased in the classes and venues. There are only two northern white rhinos left on Earth. They are almost {{{EXTINCT}}}. To honour the majestic gentle giants, they are the first ever Free Style Chinese Painting created.

I am an exceptional person with a deep commitment to my Chinese Frees Style painting and my unwavering commitment to the world’s endangered wildlife species. My dedication to my Chinese Free Style art is evident by the exhibitions and classes I give, from the youngsters in Richmond to the seniors in Coquitlam Canada. 'Art for Wildlife' is my ongoing art project to spread the love to wildlife.
